Differences between charging a plug-in hybrid vehicle or a fully electric vehicle

Consumers who are interested in a fuel-efficient vehicle or an electrified vehicle have multiple options on the market. You can choose a plug-in hybrid vehicle like a Volvo XC60 Recharge or XC90 Recharge which gives you impressive range while also providing the benefits of a gas engine. The Volvo XC60 Recharge, for example, can go roughly 60 km on electric power alone, giving you the ability to complete your daily commute without needing a single drop of fuel while also giving you the opportunity to keep going on your way using the gas engine. It essentially offers you the best of both worlds.

A Volvo electric vehicle like the XC40 Recharge or the C40 Recharge allows you to never again have to put fuel in your vehicle or worry about the cost of fuel. It also gives you exceptional performance. And with 358 km of range, you definitely have the freedom that you need.

The other significant difference between an electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid vehicle is charging time. It is quicker to charge a PHEV vehicle compared to an electric vehicle because the battery is a lot smaller.  The Volvo XC60 Recharge can charge on both a 3.6 kW AC charger which will give you full range in 3 to 4 hours or on a traditional outlet will require between 4 and 8 hours to get the full range.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge fully electric vehicle or the C40 Recharge can charge at up to 150 kW, charging its battery from 20% to 90% in just 40 minutes. Charging on a 50 kW outlet will allow you to charge the battery fully in about two hours. You can also charge at home in 8 to 10 hours.
